Our Mission

At the L.A.Y.K.A Foundation our beliefs are based on three principles: Rescue, Train, and Home. We believe there are no bad dogs, just misguided ones. Our sole purpose through this organization is to rescue canines that are often overlooked or not given a fair shot at love. All canines deserve love, and in one way or another, can be our savior; we are living proof of this!

Rescue

When we rescue a canine, it does not simply mean giving a canine a roof. Here at the L.A.Y.K.A Foundation we ensure our canines are receiving quality food, physical exertion, and more importantly, mental stimulation.

Train

While training these canines, we do not solely focus on obedience. Often, rehabilitation is a key component to the development of the canine. We raise each canine with our pack, guaranteeing exposure to other canines, horses, and cats. Here, we begin to “train as you live”. Each canine will also be exposed to a multitude of environments, thus building confidence and familiarity with unsure surroundings.

Home

Our potential adopter/s are thoroughly vetted. In this process, we ensure that the adopters can provide for the canine (financially, physically, and mentally). Once the adopters have been selected to adopt the respective canine, adopters will receive a lesson regarding the training used and applied to their unique canine. If considering to be an adopter, we recommend ensuring that your lifestyle and expectations are in sync with that of the canines.

Inspiration

The inspiration for the L.A.Y.K.A Foundation came from Joshua and Racheal’s oldest canine (Layka). Truth be told, Layka was what fate used to unite the two. She not only brought two people together but opened doors so other canines could receive the love that these two had to give. Through Layka, Joshua and Racheal felt compelled to rescue, train and nurture as many canines as possible. In honor of Layka and their love, they have opened this non-profit to give to those what Layka has given to them…hope!
